No response to connect attempts

I just recently ( magically? ) got cu-seeme to come up and run on my
OS/2 Warp system. But when I tell it to connect I get "No response
from xxx" fill in the reflector name.

Some background, I am using a dynamic PPP connection ( dial up ) to my
provider. How important is the IP address in the HOSTS file? Should it
be accurate? In my case my connection does not create this file on the
fly and since I don't have a static IP I can't pre-create it. Is this
related to my error message or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I'm using a Digital Vision Computereyes RT board and my trusty Canon
8mm video camera. Under OS/2 Warp 3.0 in a WINOS2 Windowed session.
Previous to this mysterious run where it works I was getting either
Hostname get errors or error binding to UDP port, I don't really know
why it decided to work just yet, ( could be a fixed INET.SYS I
installed today ) but until I can see it connect perhaps I can assume
it still doesn't? <grin>

When will a version w/o the HOSTS file ( i.e. static IP ) be released?

Thanks again and HOPE to be seeing you soon!
