In talks (not books) I've found it best to weave hardware and software
together first, and extract general principles later (after comparing
two typical ways to use the Internet).

NV, VAT, VIC, WB etc. are mbone-based technology. I'm not sure what
your intention is in making "mbone" a separate topic. One could even
consider the mbone an Internet technology, since it's used for more
than conferencing.

Be sure to mention ISI and BBN in your pioneering section. People have
been doing this for many years, especially ISI, and BBN broke it loose.

I do wish people didn't feel obligated to make the last chapter the one
with the most unresolved controversy in it. Put it up near the top of
the "culture" section. Then the reader will have his/her interest
piqued and also won't be left with unknown feelings at the end.
