Reflector - reflect.conf

I'm using vi to create my reflect.conf file and I'm having trouble
inserting the "msg-string".(The reflector is running on a SPARCstation
10/51 SunOs 4.1.3)

The following works, but anything longer gives me an error:
MOTD Welcome to the Haas School of Business reflector site.^M//

Is there a special format for the msg-string (besides the carriage return
// to end it)?

Does someone have or know where I can look at a working reflect.conf file?
