Setup Help Needed

Good morning All:

I purchased Quickcam for Windows in October (after being on a waiting list
since June!) and have run into some problems in the setup.
I have the camera connected to my parallel port which I switch back and
forth w/my inkjet printer. I have purchased a switch box but
have not set it up due to my needing another cable so I just disconnect
cables each time.

The errors that I am having are the following:

First, on starting Cu-SeeMe I get "capture device not detected" then I get
"invalid handle". I've tried rebooting between disconnecting cables so
that's not it, I have a fixed IP address so that's not it and I can view
others perfectly. Since the camera is not recognized, I get a black/gray
scrolling screen for what is supposed to be my pic. The camera works just
fine when using QuickPic and QuickMovie so I know that it's not a camera
problem. I've reinstalled the Quickcam software tons of times and currently
use Cu-SeeMe ver. 084b7.

I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some advice to get the
video on my end up and running.

Thanks,
