User Population?

Hi all,

In a sense, we are all doing a continual study of user demographics by
age, sex - and IQ - every time we hit the refs.

My question is: Are there credible estimates of the size of the 'regular'
cu-seeme population (say those who hit the refs once a week or so). On
what would one base such an estimate?

As I write this, a couple of other questions come to mind:

How many refs are running at any given time?
Do we have user population estimates going back to '94, which would allow
for extrapolation of the growth curve (presumably exponential)?

Thoughts welcomed -- see y'all out there...
