Extension cords for QuickCam

I hope this isn't an inappropriate post to this list, but I assume many
readers use Quickcams.

My question: In the docs, i read of a limitation on the length of extending
the QCam. Has anyone had any experience w/ this, and if so, what type of
cords did you use. Would regualar printer cable work, and what about the
power cord? A regular ps/2 style keyboard extension cord?
