I wish to voice a dissenting opinion towards the idea of a newsgroup.
I think the object of this forum should remain facilitiating the
installation and use of Cu-SeeMe. Making this a newsgroup will add an
additional hurdle which is getting some form of news reader to work.
This would requre participants to first get a news reader and set that
up before even beginning to discuss Cu-SeeMe. I think we should focus
on Cu-SeeMe and not add newsreaders to the user's technical
requirements.
Second, in my own case, I would not be able to participate in the
newsgroup because the news server in my domain is very restrictive
about which newsgroups are supported. I sincerely doubt that I could
convince the administrator for the news server to add Cu-SeeMe.
Therefore, I recommend that users who are bothered by the volume of
e-mail should subscribe to this listserv in "digest" form.
