My guess is..not for a long time...until someone (Steve Edgar) has the
time and inclination to play with it on his own spare time..or until
someone else picks up a license for it and starts to develop it
independently of Cornell...

Jason's observations are indeed correct. The workgroup at Cornell that
developed CU-SeeMe has been pursuing a "workstation telephony" research
project.
