7500 bombs

Any thoughts - better yet, any luck from anyone using a 7500/100 PCI bus Mac?
7.5.3 update2 for software
I keep getting error type 11 crashes when I actually connect...I can
connect to myself
all day long, but that's only fun for so long...serial? apple? quickcam?

I'm trying to help a faculty member go from his 840 that worked, to a
better computer that
doesn't...it's not working very well...
