microscope image troubles in Iowa

I am a professor attempting to use CU-SeeMe to conduct joint lessons on the
scanning electron microscope (SEM) with a local elementary classroom. I
hope someone out there can help me.

We take a digital RS-170 signal from the SEM directly into a Power Mac 7100
using the apple AV board. The 7100 is then connected to our reflector.

We have had several problems. First, the reflector site turns itself off
every 2-3 days. Is this due to
something in the way CU-SeeMe is set up? Or is it some internal problem here?

The second problem is more serious. The SEM image on the 7100 screen looks
great and updates very quickly. However, once the school connects to the
reflector, the image they see is far different from what is appearing on my
screen. Their image may take several minutes to update and may never
completely update at all. Usually the top third of the image will update
within seconds, the middle third maybe over the course of several minutes,
the bottom third, never. Any ideas on why this is so? As I said, the
image coming into the 7100 always looks great.

Finally, when we have been connected to the school for 40 minutes or so
CU-SeeMe disconnects and the message "TIMED OUT" appears. We don't know
why this is happening.

I really appreciate any help you can give me.
