Yes....a suggestion....
Buy another parallel port card. They aren't expensive, and save the hassle
of plugging/unplugging anything. Also beware of cheap data switches.

I use a Belkin Data Switch and it works great.

But if you have a laser printer, you need a different kind of data switch.

I use a StyleWriter II.
