Mac & PC: exploring new technologies

CU-SeeMe is a wonderful technology, and the members of this list are
certainly pioneers in a brave new world of videoconferencing. There are
other technologies that deserve exploration.

Digital anonymous money is a case in point. There is a full-scale trial
going on, and you can participate in using funny-money, called ECash.
You'll be given E$100 when you sign up. Information may be found at

http://www.digicash.com/

Why am I telling you this? Because in order to encourage people to
participate in the ECash trial, I'm modifying my web pages to charge
trivial amounts of ecash, like E$0.01, for pieces of information, such as
the CU-SeeMe reflector lists.

There are Macintosh, Windows, and UNIX ECash clients available. I heartily
encourage all of you to go to the web site and sign up.

Of course, nobody will be turned away from obtaining any information
because they're on some sort of strange system that doesn't support ECash.

In other news, I've included several pointers to information about ISDN,
including Pacific Bell's ISDN User's Guide - a must-read introduction to
the subject.

More changes to the web pages coming shortly.

To leave this list send listproc@cornell.edu a message body with the |
command "u*subscribe cu-seeme-l". (Replace the '*' with 'n'; if |
the "un" word had appeared then this message would have automagically |
been filtered to the trash by many people's filtering configuration.) |
