I've had that happen with a few other versions of the client (3.1 I
believe). My guess is it has to do with chat loss requests. If you just
join a ref that's been active in the chat window, it hasn't "seen" the
chat, so I[m guessing that it asks for copies of the last few seconds of
chat.
