TTL values and CU-SeeMe

Hi all, I came accross the following info the other day. It concerns TTL
(Time to Live) values of IP packets and the fact that they are
set too low by default in Windows 95 and Windows NT. You can read about
it (and how to alter it) at http://www.switch.ch/docs/ttl_default.html
The link "background information" has some info on why it's important.

Basically it can affect both TCP and UDP traffic. I thought it may be a
factor in packet loss, choppy audio and slow/jerky video under CU-SeeMe.
I'd be interested to hear Brian Godette's comments on this one.

Of course it's not a problem in OS/2 Warp, which has the defaults set to
the recommended values :)

Scott.
