If it's the Phillips "egg cam" then there is an advantage, yes. The cam has
a built-in condensor (sp) mic (you should see a little hole to the left of
the cam lens). That mic plug connects as part of the camera jack. If you
have a Winnov audio/video card it will allow you to use the mic on the
camera, rather than a separate mic. And it's actually a pretty good little
mic!
That's the only advantage I can think of...
As a side note: I run two systems here with that configuration, as well as
stock sound 16bit cards, dual booting Win95 and WinNT. I've had no conflict
problems.
