CUSM on P90 - Diversion: should PPP work with NT 3.5?

I understand this request does pertain directly to CUSM but
it relates to the hardware/software some of the participants may be
using to run this application better and could inform/benefit others.

After making the jump to faster hardware ( P90) x86-based platform
which gave me huge improvement in coping with CU-SeeMee demand
on the CPU, I would like to try Windows NT 3.5.
It supposes to provide built in PPP support (like Windows 95). I manage
to set the modem on com3, the built in TCP/IP protocol and Remote Access
PPP but NT does not seems to recognize the handshake/communication
protocol of the network access provider (Annex hardware).

The exact same PC, when switched to "real" DOS at boot time
(a convenience of the NT setup), connects fine under WFW 3.11
and Trumpet 2.0 winsock.

Is NT 3.5 workstation Remote Access PPP meant only for connecting to
an other sibling (NT server PPP protocol)? As anyone succeeded in
accessing "the Net" through a provider using the built in service in NT?

Thanks in advance. Alain
