The White House Leadership Conference on Youth Drug Use and Violence

On Thursday, March 7, President Bill Clinton and other top
Administration officials will lead The White House Conference on Youth
Drug Use and Violence. The conference sessions will be attended by some
300 government and community leaders who are active in various aspects of
America's battle against youth involvement in drugs and violence. The
purpose of the conference is to educate the public and enlist the support
of leaders from all sectors of society in a national public/private
partnership to reduce adolescent drug use and violence.

The plenary session from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM EST will be
cybercast live from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt,
Maryland, by DIGEX, an Internet Service Provider. CU-SeeMe video will be
distrbuted over the ISP-TV Network, and RealAudio will be provided by a
server at DIGEX. Speakers at the plenary session will include President
Clinton, Vice President Gore, and the new National Drug Policy Director,
General Barry McCaffrey (Ret.).
