upscale audio and video [Mac]

I've been having a great time with CU-SeeMe, a standard Macintosh
microphone, and a QuickCam.

However, we're now exploring the possibility of presenting lectures with
CU-SeeMe, and higher-quality audio and video might be budgetable.

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding Macintosh-compatible microphones
or cameras?

Can standard lecture hall microphones be adapted? Regular camcorders? If
so, what extra equipment is necessary, where do you get it, and how much
does it cost?

I heard Connectix makes a lapel mike, is that true?

Thanks for the help!
