If you are dialing in PPP I am assuming that all your IP configuration stuff
is
correct (default gateway, DNS info, IP address, subnet mask). Use you ping
application to make sure that your station can at least 'see' the end node,
reflector, whatever. If you are getting an error stating that you are not
in
the DNS, you must put an entry in the file called 'hosts' which is located
in
you netmanag directory. It is a text only file an the format is simply

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx DNS_Name

or

161.213.4.12 mypc

When you run CUSEEME you can try using an IP address rather than the DNS
entry
to see if it works. If you use the ping application and use the DNS name,
it
will show you the resolved IP address.

By not knowing your error, I do not know how to reply. More information
follows.

Port information below.......

The ports that need to be available 'through' the firewall need to be 7648,
7649, 7650, 7651 and 7652.

For all traffic with the desktop application it uses UDP port 7648. For
traffic
between reflectors, it uses 7649, 50, 51, 52.

For router access I guess it goes something like this (if needed)

permit udp 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 0.0.0.0 eq 7648 permit
udp
0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 0.0.0.0 eq 7649 permit udp
0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 0.0.0.0 eq 7650 permit udp
0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 0.0.0.0 eq 7651 permit udp 0.0.0.0
255.255.255.255 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 0.0.0.0 eq 7652

14.4 us robotix
windows 3.1 (who doesn't?)
a PPP connection to Phoenix Data Systems in Houston
and WINSOCK.DLL which came with Internet Chameleon
and Netscape
oh yeah, CUSeeMe v. w0.34b5..
AND NO CLUE ON WHAT STACKS ARE...
in fact, I have NO CLUE ON HOW TO EVEN RUN THIS JUNK...

So...(sorry for the outburst..I've been trying to get this to work all day..

)
PLEASE HELP ME...All I wanna do is watch a live concert..

BTW:the earlier replies helped, I now know where WINSOCK is.
