Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility and the Benton Foundation
have filed a joint opposition to the petition of America's Carriers
Telecommunication Association's (ACTA) petition. The ACTA petition, filed
March 5, 1996, sought regulation of internet telephony software companies by
the FCC and a declaratory judgment by the FCC that it has jurisdiction over
the Internet. The joint opposition of CPSR and The Benton Foundation can be
