In my case our SLIP server assigns a unique IP number for each
userid in the SLIP pool (Shiva LanRover, configured to do so),
the same number each time I access it. So I have the possibility
to put an entry in the HOSTS file with my IP number and a name.

But it is old time thinking for the CU-SeeMe program to look in the
hosts file to get its name (there are some other programs doing it too :-(
It should FIRST ask the nameserver THEN if no answer look in the HOSTS file.
