May I add my voice to the list of people suggesting that the format
of the packets sent by CUSeeMe be made available so we can experiment
with incorporation . . , making CUSeeMe a true open architecture.

Additionally, who out there is familiar (as I am) with the software
techniques used for encoding the video; as I calculate it, the
availability of substantial computing power on each end of a
restricted bandwidth line would suggest that the encoding method used
by CUSeeMe (I am making a guess about what this method is, of course,
but I assume it is a pretty good guess) could be upgraded
substantially by use of a relatively standard deconvolution algorithm
used for tomographic scanners . . . (the amount of raw information
would be astoundingly reduced, to around 400-800 2*bits PER FRAME for
a 200x200 frame size); this would lead to a 30 fps frame rate which
would only require about 48kbps . . . Or am I completely nuts?
