Can you broadcast to a reflector on same machine??

We are investigating the possibility here of using the cu-seeme reflector
to distribute a radio station feed. cu-seeme is the only PD format I know
of that has clients for all major platforms, so this is why it is appealing
to us. I have a copy of the 4.00b3 BSDI reflector running on my FreeBSD
machine. Works great. I also have an old copy of vat I am using to send
audio to reflectors. This also works great if I send to say, mohawk.utdallas.
edu. But when I try to send to the reflector on my own machine, I get
nothing. refmon does not show a connection. I have tried changing the
vat port on the reflector to something different from the default, but
that didn't help. I think there has to be a way to do this, since I've seen
other net-radio-stations using cuseeme to broadcast and I doubt they are
devoting two machines to it.

any help appreciated!

P.S. is the reflector list totally dead?
