[*] Reflector list V5

Luc Volders (luc@box.nl)
Sun, 19 Nov 1995 16:04:12 +0100

To all,

Here is the Fifth version of the reflector list.

The list is denpending on the permission of reflector owners/maintainers.

A new list will be posted every time there are 10 new reflectors added, or
two weeks afther the previous list has been posted, or in between when I
feel like it.

Although I received information for this list from the reflector
owners/maintainers, and most of them said they were accessible 24 hours a
day
seven days a week, this seems not always the case.
One explanation can be what a reflector owner told me:
The reflector is unmanned, so they just do not know when he is down.
By accident they may discover that the reflector is down and than they will
restart the software. So if you do not get connection try it again a few
days later.

In the list there is a date when I connected last, and my comments on that.

This list contains 5 parts
- Public reflectors open all the time (or ay least they try to)
- Private reflectors
- Special reflectors
- Adult reflectors
- reflectors to be removed from your list.

For the last one I ask your co-operation.
Some of these reflectors are private. You will not get respond from them anyway.
CU Users who NEED this reflector will know how to connect. Others just
can't connect anyway so remove it from your list.
Some maintainers/owners asked me not to put the IP on my list. From these
reflectors I just included the name. So if you have them on your list,
please remove them.

Remember:
This list is for you and from you. Let's make this list a success. So if
you have an IP of a reflector not on this list, send me as much info as you
have like:
IP number, DNS entry, e-mail adress of owner/maintainer, purpose, related
www pages, opening times etc.
If you only have the IP adress that's OK, I'll try to find the information
myself. But help is appreciated.

CU-SeeMe mailing list convention.
I am not dictating but I want to state a possibility which has been stated
before on this mailing list and that helps prevent annoying people.
If you post a message to the CU-Mailing list not everybody is interested in
all questions about all software platforms.
So if you post message's to this mailinglist please begin the subject
header (like I did in this message) with:

[M] If the message concerns Mac related questions or remarks
[U] For Unix machines
[W] For Windows computers

I'm happy to see someone undertaking this job,
but I'd appreciate it if you don't put my reflector on

We have a limited amount of bandwidth right now.
Once we have been upgraded to handle more traffic,

to save our bandwidth for local use.
