I agree with Geoff that pre-conference planning (via email probably) is a
good idea. We try to do that as part of our Global Schoolhouse Project
conferences and it works well. One of us acts as moderator and has a list
of all the questions each participant wants to ask or will be asked - and
that person then sees that the "who/when" part is taken care of by saying
the site's name and then asking the question. Usually the moderator emails
each participant a schedule of approximate times and the lists of questions
(or possible questions/topics) ahead of the conference so everyone can
refer to it. (Included it that message is any information regarding
reflectors and use of Maven.) Each respondant then will answer as they are
called upon and at the end of their reply indicate they are done by saying
"over" or that's our response from ..., or some such phrase.
But I think this demo was very spontaneous and worked fine. I do wish we
had more time for interaction with those there -- maybe next time!
I enjoyed it - and the meeting those online. It still *amazes* me that I
can chat with people all over the world!

Let's do it again sometime :-)
