Two things:

- It seems to be very sensitive to electromagnetic interference, epicially
from other NuBus boards. Other things I've seen cause problems were large
external disks (with large power supplies) and even a scanner in one
instance.

- I also had a 840AV that had this problem. It took a motherboard
replacement to fix it (one of the digitizing components went south). I
only tell you this to possibly confirm your worst fears.
