SLIP with Trumpet problems

We are successfully running CU-SeeMe in a WfWg 3.11 LAN
with MS TCP/IP-32.

I am trying know to set up CU-SeeMe to connect to the
Internet via SLIP connection using Trumpet Winsock.
Unfortunately, whenever trying to connect to another
host I always get the message:

no response from <IP-address>

Can anyone help me. Note that the SLIP connection
works fine with the MOSAIC program.
