I have gotten a lot of milage out of a product called LAN DOCTOR, a software
only by US Networkx, i found it of all places on compuserve. I have been
using it for 2 or 3 years, it was a little pricy in those days ($800). But,
for me, worth every penny, it enabled me to develop my own LAN access
software, it handles a lot of statistics gathering, profiling, filtering
etc. If you are interested, i could go thru the old invoices and find out
where they are, it does not say anything on the disk, and i must have lost
the manual, it has great on-line help and even a tutorial it beats the $4000
+ hardware monitor, which then was the only other solution.
