Sockets killed

Sometimes when my software seems to shut down or "timed out", on my Trumpet
Winsock Screen it says # socket killed.

I am trying to determine the cause of this. I have checked in the Cu-seeMe
User guide and in a hardware book. I see no mention of Sockets being killed
or even alive!

I am using this in my classroom and it is difficult to explain why this is
happening to my students. Surprisingly even they don't know the answer.

Any ideas how I can keep this from happening?
