Modern versions of the reflector will stop transmitting audio when they
sense that the packet loss rate is sufficiently high to render audio
difficult to understand or unusable. Mac/PC clients don't do this
themselves. It's been my experience that the threshold on reflectors
triggers a little to early, but that is the cause of your different
experiences when connected to reflectors and clients.
