Fellowship Opportunities

American Association of University Women Fellowships

2000 American Fellowships: Outstanding women scholas in the arts and sciences can apply for one-year research fellowships or short-term publication grants from the AAUW Educational Foundation. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. Postmark Deadline: November 15, 1999. Funds are available for:

Completing Dissertations: $15,000 for women in the final year of a doctoral degree program and who will complete dissertations between June 30, 2001. Support all fields of study except engineering. Scholars researching gender issues are encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral Research Leave: $27,000 for women who will earn a doctoral degree by November 15, 1999. Limited additional postdoctoral support may be available when matched by the fellow's institution.

Summer/Short-Term Publication Grants: $5,500 for women college/university faculty or independent researchers to prepare completed research for publication.

2000 Founders Distinguished Senior Scholar Award is presented by the AAUW Educational Foundation, honors a woman scholar for a lifetime of outstanding research, college/university teaching, publications, and positive impact upon women in her profession and community. The award carries an honorarium of $1,000 and travel expenses to the 2000 Foundation Awards Banquet in Washington, D.C. All materials must be received by February 10, 2000 in the AAUW Offices. 2000 AAUW Recognition Award for Emerging Scholars honors an untenured woman scholar who has a record of exceptional early professional accomplishments and demonstrates promise of future distinction. The award carries an honorarium of $5,000 and travel expenses to the 2000 Foundation Awards Banquet in Washington, D.C. All materials must be received by February 10, 2000 in the AAUW Offices.
