The Area Learning Centers offer programs for students and teachers. Some of
the programs and partnerships are listed below.
Indiana Academy
Outreach
The Indiana Academy Office of Outreach Programs provides teachers and
students throughout the nation many opportunities for educational
enrichment. By the use of IHETS, the Office of Outreach Programs and the
Indiana Academy strive to stimulate vitality in educational programs for
elementary and secondary pupils and their teachers. For more information on

Elementary Modern Language -- a year long series of language modules
targeting K-5 age group and introduces the basics of Japanese, German,
Spanish, and French to students.
High School Programs -- Advanced Placement science and mathematics courses
including: AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics B, AP Chemistry and AP
Statistics, Human and Molecular Genetics, High School Physics, Astronomy,
and Russian I and II.
Electronic Field Trips -- live, interactive, televised broadcasts that
transport students and teachers to various locations througout the United
States. Communication with the hosts via fax, e-mail, and live Internet
chat is available. Web sites are available to supplement each broadcast
with virtual museum tours, online classroom activities, Internet resources,
and much more.
Professional Development -- the Legacy 21 Professional Development Series
consists of 27 live, televised programs designed to assist teachers from
pre-school through grade 12 with integrating technology into their
classroom.
Continuing education classes are made available at the Area Learning Centers
for teachers and administrators to continue their education in order to meet
recertification requirements. The classes are made via the delivery methods
mentioned earlier.
